Turkish domestic PPGI market influenced by declining HDG prices

Demand is still sluggish in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market, while prices have softened by $15/mt over the past week in line with hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices.

Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,020-1,060/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $880-920/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $800-830/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

In the meantime, demand for Turkish PPGI exports is still limited and, even though PPGI export offers from Turkey have softened by $10/mt over the past week, they are still considered to be on the high side in the targeted export markets such as the CIS, the Middle East and North Africa. Ex-Turkey PPGI offers are currently at $870-910/mt FOB for October production.
