Prices for coated steel in Turkey have remained stable over the week though trading activity has faded somewhat. Re-rollers report that some considerable demand, seen last week, has allowed them to close March production sales and also to sell some good volumes for April. Currently, most offers are for April-May deliveries. “Things have slowed down as buyers restocked, so now we wait for the new round or for some change in feedstock prices,” an Iskenderun region-based re-roller told SteelOrbis.
On the export side, trade in Europe has been interrupted because of the coronavirus outbreak in Italy. Most European countries are concerned and some have taken extreme measures like stopping train transportation. The situation is generally unfavorable and has clearly affected foreign trade.
