Turkey’s re-rollers, under significant pressure from buyers, have decreased their prices by $10-20/mt since earlier this week. End-user consumption remains insufficient and so producers’ positions are somewhat shaky. In addition, import scrap prices have indicated a significant decline in recent deals. "Despite strong HRC prices, we were unable to maintain our prices. The uncertainty and the fear of a second wave of Covid-19 have caused low demand and buyers have exerted pressure on prices. Also, we do not have any support from the export markets," a re-roller told SteelOrbis.
