SSAB raises plate and HRC prices $100/nt

SSAB Americas announced February 7 that the transaction price for all non-contract Carbon and High Strength Low Alloy Plate, Alloy Discrete Plate including Quenched and Tempered, Cut to Length Plate 72" wide, and Hot Rolled Coil 72" wide by a minimum of $5.00 cwt. ($110/mt or $100/nt).

This announcement applies to all new and existing orders acknowledged for the ship week of February 27, 2011 and beyond.

The increase is also in addition to the notification of SSAB Americas' March RMS #2 which will be announced Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

The increase applies to the above products made at SSAB Americas' two US steel mills, as well as product from its three North American coil processing lines.

SSAB added that the company will also be reinforcing published extras as well.
