Due to weak end-user demand and an overabundance of supply on the market, domestic flat steel prices in Romania have fallen again this week. As a result, retail traders have sought to decrease prices in order to get rid of excess inventory. Meanwhile, there have been some movements in import offers this week, which has not happened in a long time, with some hot roll coil (HRC) proposals, according to sources, ex-Serbia have been available at €745/mt DAP, and ex-Slovakia offers HRC at €790/mt DAP, lastly ex-Italy offered for HRC at €770/mt CIF.
Currently, prices for domestic origin hot rolled coil in Romania have dropped by €15-30/mt to €760/mt ex-works. Likewise, traders' pricing for hot rolled sheets (HRS) has also trended down at €855-900/mt ex-warehouse which was €875-990/mt ex-warehouse in the previous week.
