Given the slow trade and the ongoing holiday season, the Romanian flat steel producer and local traders have kept their offers unchanged from last week. According to reports, since no changes or improvements are anticipated during the current month, the sole domestic producer and local traders have not seen the need to adjust prices. However, with September beginning, it is anticipated that some market changes may occur.
“The market continues to be silent. Demand is very low. There is no point in reducing prices, since there is no actual benefit given the lack of demand,” a representative of the producer told SteelOrbis
Over the past week, the domestic steel producer in Romania has kept offers for hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) at €615-620/mt ex-works and €715-720/mt ex-works, respectively. Similarly, the spot market prices for hot rolled sheets (HRS) and cold rolled sheets (CRS) have remained unchanged from last week, at €730-750/mt ex-warehouse and €840-850/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
The domestic mill's local market pricing for HDG and PPGI has also remained stable week on week at €785-790/mt ex-works and €1,065-1,070/mt ex-works, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the import category, sources claim that ex-Ukraine offers for HRS and CRC have remained stable week on week at €600/mt DAP and €690-700/mt DAP, respectively. Additionally, Turkish mills are still providing HRC at FOB prices of $575-590/mt, with freight costs of around €25/mt, arriving in Romania at around €545-555/mt CFR.
