After Romanian flat steel prices had dropped owing to the persisting negative bias in demand, the domestic producer and retail traders have been trying to keep prices stable in the past week. Unfortunately, the ongoing global and local economic challenges are reducing demand, which is forcing the flats market down, and another reduction in prices is expected in the coming days.
In the import segment, according to sources, there has been a decrease in ex-Italy HRC offers, which were at €770/mt CIF last week but are at €730/mt CIF in the current week.
The domestic steel producer in Romania has maintained the previous week’s levels and offers for November hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) at €760/mt ex-works and €1,000/mt ex-works, respectively. Similarly, traders' pricing for hot rolled sheets (HRS) and cold rolled sheets (CRS) has remained unchanged from last week, at €855-900/mt ex-warehouse and €945-1,000/mt ex-works, respectively.
Moreover, the domestic mill's domestic market pricing for HDG and PPGI in the category of coated steel is stable week on week at €1,000/mt ex-works and €1,360/mt ex-works, respectively.
