For a third consecutive week, the reference export price for Brazilian slabs remains at $455/mt, FOB conditions for basic commercial grades.

From a broader perspective, this price remains in a range of $455/mt to $470/mt since mid-July, the lowest level in recent years.

Brazil’s slab exports in October are projected to match September’s 476,800 mt, based on the first three weeks’ data. So far, the average FOB price in October is $513/mt, against $497/mt in September, but in this case, including quality extras.

In October, there were no imports cleared through customs at Brazilian ports. However, some volumes remain stockpiled at the ports, awaiting a more favorable USD/BRL exchange rate to proceed through customs clearance.
