After three consecutive weeks of stability at $455/mt, the reference export price for Brazilian slabs is now $458/mt, FOB conditions for basic commercial grades.

The reference price maintains stability in a range of $455/mt to $470/mt since mid-July.

According to analysts, the small increase could reflect the positive mood from the meeting including the presidents of Brazil and the US this weekend in Malaysia, when advisors from both sides confirmed that the import tariffs imposed by the US could be discussed during the next few days.

Brazil’s slab exports in October are expected to match the 467,800 mt of September.

The average FOB price in October is expected to reach $513/mt, including quality extras.
