Coated steel prices in Turkey have inched down over the week, most probably as a result of firm negotiations carried out by buyers. However, now most local re-rollers have withdrawn their offers and are planning to increase their prices shortly, SteelOrbis understands. "Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are now increasing in the country and we have to follow this trend because our costs are increasing," a re-roller told SteelOrbis. Having sold good volumes locally at around $425-430/mt ex-works base, the HRC mills in the country are not under much pressure nowadays and their pricing is expected to be firm. Re-rollers are foreseen to announce new coated steel levels after they see a clear trend in the feedstock segment.
