According to market sources, Italian producers' offers to their domestic markets for S275 heavy plates currently stand at €510-530/mt ($576-599/mt) ex-works. Local demand is very weak, but, according to market sources, prices could increase in the coming period on the back of higher international raw material prices, the stability of slab prices, and the recovery of flat steel prices in the global market. Also, Italian producers hope that by the end of February local traders will increase their purchases due to the need to rebuild their stocks.
