The US domestic plate market is continuing to “rock-and-roll” since our last report two weeks ago, as lead times are now trending out to early November.  The most commonly reported spot price transaction range has remained lateral, still at approximately $44.00-$45.00 cwt.  ($970-$994/mt or $880-$900/nt) ex-Midwest mill, but strong demand has allowed mills to keep prices firm. Sources tell SteelOrbis that they aren’t even flexible in offering deals to those who are interested in placing larger orders.

Meanwhile, offers from Brazilian producers are still available, in the previously reported range of $38.00-$39.00 cwt. ($838-$869/mt or $760-$780/nt) DDP loaded truck US Gulf coast ports, while offers from Mexican producers continue to be quite aggressive, with a number of transactions taking place below the late July range of $37.00-$38.00 cwt. ($815-$838/mt or $740-$760/nt), DDP loaded truck delivered to US border states.
