Nucor has announced that they will be raising plate prices by $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt), effective with orders acknowledged for shipment on or after January 1, 2019.

Nucor further stated the company reserves the right to “review and requote” any offers that have not yet been confirmed with Nucor sales acknowledgement or written acceptance by both parties.

SSAB Americas yesterday announced a similar announcement, however their price increase will be effective for all non-contract orders scheduled to ship on or after the week of Dec. 30, 2018.

Current prices for US domestic plate are being heard in the range of $48-$49 cwt. ($1,058-$1,080/mt or $960-$980/nt), ex-Midwest mill.
