Nucor follows AK Steel with $50/nt flats increase

In a letter to customers Tuesday, Nucor Sheet Mill Group announced that it would increase new base prices on hot rolled, cold rolled and galvanized coil products by a minimum of $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt), effective immediately.

Nucor gave no specific reason for the increase, similar to a $2.50 cwt. increase announcement from AK Steel on Monday.
