During the week ending February 14, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have moved up, while transaction activity in the market has been at low levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
Following the long Chinese New Year holiday, HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market have followed an upward trend, reflecting the optimism in the market regarding the likely future trend of prices. However, there have been few inquiries from downstream users as most of them have not yet returned from their holiday. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
