Rebar futures prices and HRC futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange are down 0.27 percent and 0.78 percent week on week to RMB 3,373/mt ($482.3/mt) and RMB 3,321/mt ($474.9/mt), respectively, exerting a negative impact on the steel plate market.

Sentiment in the steel plate market is mostly bearish. Though many steel plate supplies have started to arrive in the market, traders’ inventories are still at relatively low levels, which will provide support for steel plate prices. It is thought that steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely fluctuate within a limited range in the coming week.
