During the last week, spot prices of flat products in the Italian market have remained stable at following levels:
- Hot rolled coil (HRC): €295-300/mt ($322-327/mt) exworks
- Cold rolled coil (CRC): €375-385/mt ($409-420/mt) exworks
- Hot Dip Galvanized Coil (HDG): €365-375/mt ($398-409/mt) exworks
- Black plates: €315-325/mt ($343-354/mt) exworks
Market sources state that distributors are confused since too many announcements regarding price changes had been made previously, but none of them were applied. In the meantime, the downstream demand in the Italian market which was at good levels one year ago is now at weak levels. Actually, only the automotive sector is displaying a good financial performance, while other sectors are still suffering from the difficult economic situation.
