SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that inquiries in the Turkish domestic hot dip galvanized market have improved slightly, though there have not been any new transactions concluded, reflecting a lack of improvement in actual demand. Some domestic mills have increased their HDG prices on the back of rising hot rolled coil (HRC) prices.

In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained unchanged since last week and are still as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

775-800

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

725-745

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

705-725

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

On the other hand, buyers in the export market are cautious amid the increases in HDG prices and demand in the market is still weak. Turkish HDG export prices have increased by $5/mt since last week and are currently at $760-780/mt FOB.
