Import HRC prices decrease in UAE, demand remains poor

Import hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have softened by $10/mt since last week in the UAE flat steel market, while the declining trend in prices has contributed to the weakening of demand. Competition among foreign suppliers has become more intense, though local buyers still prefer to conclude deals just in line with their needs amid the downward trend of prices.

In the meantime, HRC offers from Russia to the UAE are now standing at $570-580/mt CFR, while Indian and Chinese HRC offers for the UAE are at $560/mt CFR. The offers exclude VAT and are for June output.
