Over the past week, demand for hot rolled coil (HRC) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has remained weak. While import HRC offers to the country have mostly remained stable, ex-CIS HRC offers to the same destination have softened slightly. In this context, import HRC offers to the UAE are now at $590-620/mt CFR, since ex-CIS HRC offers to the country have decreased by $15/mt on the lower end week on week to $590-600/mt CFR. Meanwhile, Indian producers’ HRC offers to the UAE are still at $610-620/mt CFR and Chinese exporters’ quotations are at $610-615/mt CFR.
