Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC of the basic commercial grades for export at $600/mt, FOB conditions, a price now stable for four weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

In March, ArcelorMittal exported HRC at $573/mt, CSN at $656/mt and Usiminas at $657/mt, all FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in January. Price variances are due to differences in quality grades and destinations, among other factors.

The main destinations were Latin America (57,500 mt), the EU (26,400 mt) and Turkey (16,100 mt).

Preliminary indications from the country’s customs authorities point to a two-digit decrease in April from the 100,000 mt of HRC exported from Brazil in March.
