Brazilian producers remain negotiating HRC of the basic commercial grades for export at $620/mt, FOB conditions, a price now stable for three weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
In May, ArcelorMittal exported 76,000 mt of HRC from Brazil at $632/mt, Usiminas exported 4,100 mt at $1028/mt, and CSN exported 2,300 mt at $657/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in March and different quality grades. The main destinations were South American countries (53,500 mt) and Turkey (28,900 mt).
Preliminary indications from the local customs point to a significant, two-digit increase of HRC being exported in June, from the 82,400 mt exported in May.
