Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC of the basic commercial grades for export at $600/mt, FOB conditions, a price stable for five weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

In March, ArcelorMittal exported HRC at $573/mt, CSN at $656/mt and Usiminas at $657/mt, all FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in January. Price differences reflect chiefly quality grades and destinations, among other factors.

Preliminary indications from the country’s customs authorities point to a two-digit percentage decrease in April from the 100,000 mt of HRC exported from Brazil in March.
