The Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $1,100/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, stable from two weeks ago.
In September, Brazil exported 77,600 mt of HRC, while importing 27,400 mt of the product, comparable to 64,700 mt and 4,000 mt, respectively, in August.
The main destination of the exports in September were South American countries (46,500 mt at $1,069/mt), followed by Turkey (27,000 mt at $1,007/mt) and the Dominican Republic (4,100 mt at $1,082/mt), all FOB conditions. The exporters were almost entirely by ArcelorMittal (77,100mt), while 500mt were shipped by Usiminas.
The imports were from China (27,350 mt at $1,083/mt) and 50 mt at $670/mt from South Korea, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is offered at BRL 6,700/mt ($1,216/mt), against BRL 6,900/mt two weeks ago, ex-works conditions, no taxes included. Such price refers to high and medium sized volumes of the product, when sold directly to large consumers or to distributors.
