Demand has continued to remain weak in the local Portuguese flat steel market, while local producer Lusosider's hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil offers have increased by €20/mt ($27/mt) as compared to last month to the base price level of €590/mt ($791/mt) ex-works, for March deliveries. In the meantime, other flat steel prices and import offer prices have generally remained stable in Portugal over the same period.

Accordingly, the prices of domestic production hot rolled coil (HRC) in Portugal are still at €535-540/mt ($717-724/mt) ex-works, while hot rolled sheet (HRS) is being offered at €600/mt ($804/mt) ex-warehouse, both for shipments in March. In addition, ex-Spain HRC offers to the country are still at the base price level of €510/mt ($683/mt) CFR for shipments in April.
