Brazilian producers remain negotiating hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) for export at $810/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis. The reference price has remained stable for the last month.

In February, Brazil exported only 1,700 mt of HDG, the lowest volume in recent years, reflecting no exports to the US (compared to 5,300 mt in January) and 1,700 mt to Latin America (compared to 13,600 mt in January).

CSN exported its HDG at $835/mt, ArcelorMittal at $978/mt and Usiminas at $844/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2017.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by distributors at BRL 4,880/mt ($1,497/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, having the Z-100, 1.11mm thickness product as reference.

In February, Brazil imported 13,200 mt of HDG, of which 9,600 mt from China at $727/mt, FOB conditions. The last HDG offer received by Brazilian importers from China was priced at $672/mt, FOB conditions.
