The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports to South American countries is $1,220/mt, against $1,170/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In February, Brazil exported 46,200 mt and imported 36,500 mt of HDG, against respectively 7,800 mt and 48,300 mt in January.
The exports in February were destined to the US (16,400 mt at $897/mt), South America (8,100 mt at $1,565/mt), Portugal (7,600 mt at $1,048/mt), Pakistan (7,400 mt at $338/mt) and China (6,700 mt at $337/mt), all FOB conditions.
The exporters were CSN (24,100 mt at $949/mt), Usiminas (14,300 mt at $363/mt), ArcelorMittal (7,700 mt at $1,567/mt) and traders (100 mt at $1,413/mt).
The imports were from Asia (30,600 mt, of which 29,400 mt at $844/mt from China) and Europe (5,900 mt at $1,172/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 7,500/mt ($1,420/mt), against BRL 7,200/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
