Brazilian producers exported 23,600 mt of Galvalume in October, against 5,700 mt in September, according to the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services (MDIC).
The average FOB export price increased from $770/mt to $777/mt, with CSN exporting 11,700 mt and ArcelorMittal exporting 11,900 mt, both at $777/mt FOB, with price deals probably closed in August.
The main destinations were Latin America (13,000 mt, of which 11,900 mt to Argentina) and the US (10,600 mt).
The most recent Galvalume export deals are reportedly being closed in Brazil at $940/mt, FOB conditions, a level stable over three weeks.
In the Brazilian domestic market, Galvalume is sold at BRL 5,050/mt ($1,535/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, considering the AZ 150 grade and sales by the distribution chain.
Reflecting such high domestic prices, Brazil imported in October 12,200 mt of Galvalume from China at $673/mt, FOB conditions.
