Firm prices and increased inquiries in Turkish flat steel export market

This week, Turkish producers have been pleased with the inquiry volumes coming from abroad for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil, though this has not been the case for hot and cold rolled coil inquiries from foreign buyers. While an increase was seen at the start of the current month in the volume of foreign buyers' inquiries for hot rolled coil (HRC), these inquiries have not resulted in transactions.

Although activity is slowing down in the Middle East with the approach of Ramadan, the increase in inquiry volumes from this region indicates expectations that the positive trend in the market will develop further after Ramadan.

Accordingly, Turkey's HRC export offers are currently standing at $610-620/mt FOB, while its HDG export offers are at $810-820/mt ex-works.
