In Turkey, demand for imported flat steel has remained just as low as demand for domestic production flat steel products. Import flat steel offers to Turkey have started to soften amid the caution of buyers as regards new purchases and the price softening in the local market. In the meantime, firm bids are heard in response to import offers, while actual transaction levels rather than foreign mills' offers have been shaping the market.

As SteelOrbis has heard from market sources, Ukrainian mills' hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to the Turkish market have decreased by $10/mt since last week and are now standing at $545-550/mt CFR, while their cold rolled coil (CRC) offers are currently in the range of $635-650/mt CFR, indicating a decline of $20-30/mt over the same period.

Meanwhile, Russian mills' HRC offers to Turkey have decreased by $10/mt at the higher end of the range and are now at $570-575/mt CFR, while their CRC offers have remained unchanged at $680-730/mt CFR.

In addition ex-Romania HRC offers to Turkey have softened by $10/mt since last week to $595-600/mt CFR.
