Last week, the Turkish domestic flat steel market witnessed significant activity.

Turkish producers' hot rolled coil (HRC) domestic prices have climbed from $690/mt ex-works to $720/mt ex-works.

In the meantime, on the import side, the Turkish market has received offers from ArcelorMittal Romania. The producer's allocation for the Turkish market is limited and its HRC offers are standing at $700/mt CFR, while its cold rolled coil (CRC) offers are at $800/mt CFR.

It is heard that Ukrainian steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) concluded some HRC transactions to Turkey at $625/mt CFR in recent weeks.

On the other hand, towards the end of last week Russian steel producer Severstal updated its offers to Turkey for its last available tonnages for May shipments, with its prices now standing at $675-685/mt CFR for HRC, and at $775/mt CFR for CRC. Early this month, the producer's offers for HRC and CRC to the Turkish market were standing at $700-715/mt CFR and $785/mt CFR respectively.
