Ex-Brazil slab offers

A major Brazilian exporter of slabs told SteelOrbis that his last export deal was closed FOB at $460/mt for the basic commercial grade product, against $480/mt one month ago, adding that such exports are benefiting from the devaluation of the BRL vis-à-vis the $, which has increased competitiveness of exports by reducing in relative terms the production costs incurred in BRL.

During December, the country's slab export offers decreased by four percent to $469/mt compared to November. The main exporters were ThyssenKrupp CSA ($496/mt), ArcelorMittal Tubarao ($433/mt), Gerdau Acominas ($501/mt) and Usiminas Cosipa was ($363/mt.)
