While the domestic plate producer in Turkey has made an attempt to increase its offers given the rather decent demand, import plate offers have mainly softened over the past week.
Import plate offers from Bulgaria have slid by $10/mt over the past week to $820/mt CFR for November shipments, while Romanian indications are at around similar levels and for the same shipment term. Plate prices from South Korea to Turkey have moved down by $10/mt on the lower end over the past week to $740-750/mt CFR for end-of-November shipments. At the same time, shipbuilding plate prices from China have been reported at $690-700/mt CFR, versus $710/mt CFR a week earlier.
In the domestic market, Turkey’s sole plate producer is offering at around $830-850/mt ex-works, while some sources have indicated they received $860/mt ex-works. The supplier has increased its indications from the previous $800-830/mt ex-works since its November production is more or less sold out. However, its pricing remains flexible depending on the buyer and booking order.
Local ex-warehouse prices are mainly reported at $900/mt, while levels $10-20/mt lower have also been reported.
