SteelOrbis has learnt from market sources that the previous increases in demand in the Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market have been replaced by slackness, with demand now on the weak side. Market players state that this slackness of demand is normal after the brisk activity seen in the market in the previous two weeks.
In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained unchanged since last week and are still as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 765-800 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 715-745 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 695-725 |
The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.
On the other hand, demand for Turkish HDG in the export market has been better than domestic demand. Strong competition still exists in the target markets. Turkish HDG export prices have remained unchanged since last week and are still in the range of $750-780/mt FOB.
