Demand in the Turkish domestic pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market had been expected to show an improvement with the arrival of the New Year, but on the contrary demand is still on the weak side.
Meanwhile, domestic PPGI prices have remained unchanged as compared to the pre-New Year period, while market sources believe that local demand will improve in line with the increased demand on the the export side, given the reduced supply from domestic mills.
Turkish mills' offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are now standing at $1,090-1,170/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $950 -1,005/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $870-925/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
