Brazil imported 4,200 mt of CRC in February, against 19,100 mt in January, according to the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

South Korea was the main origin (2,200 mt at $720/mt), followed by China (1,500 mt at $613/mt) and Taiwan (300 mt at $697/mt), all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December.

The most recent offers of Chinese CRC received by Brazilian importers are at $635/mt, FOB conditions, the same as one month ago. The price refers to the SAE 1008 grade, 1.0mm to 1.9mm thickness range.

Meanwhile, Brazil exported in February 12,500 mt of CRC, against 48,500 mt in January, destined chiefly the EU (8,000 mt at $626/mt) and to Switzerland (4,300 mt at $620/mt), while 200 mt were shipped to South America at $860/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2017.
