Prices have increased by $20/mt today, July 23, in the Turkish coated steel market due to the rising hot rolled coils (HRC) offers in the country. "Most re-rollers have already sold their materials for September production at lower levels despite the increasing costs. Now we have to increase our prices too," a re-roller told SteelOrbis. With the higher HRC and scrap prices, re-rollers feel the increase is justified, but demand is also reported to be low, which may be the effect of the upcoming holiday. “We are hoping that our new price levels will be accepted by buyers because they understand that we now have higher costs," another re-roller told SteelOrbis.
On the export side, demand is low and prices have increased because of higher raw material prices.
