During the week ending January 11, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have softened slightly, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, there have been few inquiries for PPGI supplies from downstream users due to slack demand. However, inventories in the PPGI market are at relatively low levels, which will likely provide support for PPGI prices in the coming period. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the week ahead.
