During the week ending on May 4, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have increased slightly, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, inventory levels in the domestic PPGI market have decreased, providing support for PPGI prices. Meanwhile, rising price trends for other flat steel products, including hot rolled coil (HRC), cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG), have also exerted a positive impact on the PPGI market. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
