During the week ending June 14, average prices in the Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) market have increased slightly, while transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, transaction activity has slackened following the continuous increases seen in domestic HDG prices. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall in southern China has negatively affected demand for HDG. However, the HDG ex-works prices from steelmakers still provide support for HDG prices in the spot market. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
