During the week ending on June 15, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have continued to rise, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, domestic PPGI prices have increased supported by slight rises in hot rolled coil (HRC) futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE). Due to support from the cost side, traders are upbeat as regards the prospects for the trend of the PPGI market. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will move up further in the coming week.
