During the week ending January 4, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have moved down, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, domestic PPGI prices in China have continued to edge down against the backdrop of bearish sentiment among market players and slack demand amid the current cold winter conditions. Transaction activity is foreseen to slacken in the coming period with the approach of the Chinese New Year holiday (February 2-10). It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will move on a soft trend in the coming week.
