During the week ending February 13, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved up, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, import iron ore prices for China have indicated big rises, exerting a positive impact on CRC prices in the domestic spot market. Sentiment in the market is upbeat after the long holiday and CRC suppliers are inclined to offer higher prices to test whether buyers will accept. However, some buyers have not returned to the market yet after the holiday. It is expected that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will rise slightly in the coming week.
