During the week ending July 17, average CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved down for thick specifications, while moving up for thin specifications, with transaction activity in the overall market being at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, production cuts within the scope of environmental protection measures have resulted in reduced CRC outputs and exerted a positive impact on prices of thin specifications of CRC. However, demand has remained slack during the current offseason. At the same time, Typhoon Danas is approaching the coast of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, which will negatively affect CRC production. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely fluctuate within a limited range in the coming week.
