Chinese domestic CRC prices edge down

During the week ending January 2, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved down, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.

During the given week, slack demand due to the New Year holiday (December 29-January 1), the cold weather and the downtrend in HRC futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) have negatively impacted prices in the domestic CRC market. It is expected that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will edge down further in the coming week.
