During the week ending September 1, the average prices of Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) have moved on a stable trend, while overall transaction activity in the market has been at medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, ferrous metal futures prices in China have indicated some downward corrections, exerting a negative impact on HDG prices in the domestic spot market. Market participants have sought to keep their prices stable while also focusing on sales, resulting in decent transaction activity in the market. Meanwhile, mills’ HDG ex-works prices for September delivery have increased, which will provide support for HDG prices from the cost side. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely continue their stable trend in the coming week.
