During the week ending April 17, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved down slightly, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
Following previous rises in domestic CRC prices, downstream users have been unwilling to conclude purchases, resulting in slacker transaction activities for CRC. Meanwhile, players in the CRC market are cautious as regards the future prospects for the trend of the CRC market. However, the rising trend of HRC futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) has provided some support for CRC prices. It is expected that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will again move on a soft trend in the coming week.
