During the week ending February 20, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved up, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, supported by domestic semi-finished steel prices, some producers and traders in the Chinese market have increased their offer prices for CRC. After the Lantern Festival holiday (February 19), most players have returned to the market, resulting in better activities in the CRC market. However, inventory levels of CRC have increased and more CRC supplies are expected to arrive in the market. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
