During the week ending April 3, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have edged down in Shanghai due to weak consumption, though remaining stable in Tianjin and Lecong, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, CRC inventories have been at relatively low levels, providing some support for domestic CRC prices. Meanwhile, HRC futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) have edged up recently, which will bolster the CRC market to some extent. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move on a firm trend in the coming week.
