As of September 19, average cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market are almost unchanged on week-on-week basis, while transaction activity in the overall market has been at low levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, ferrous metal futures prices in China have indicated some minor fluctuations, contributing to a wait-and-see mood in the domestic CRC market, while transaction activity in the market has also been quiet due to the impact of Typhoon Mangkhut. Traders have been seeking to sell off their inventories and are not in any rush to book orders from steelmakers. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely soften in the coming week.
